Capsular contracture

The capsular contracture is a possible complication after breast augmentation with implants. In this case, the body forms a natural capsule of connective tissue around the implant, which in some cases can harden or contract. This can lead to feelings of tightness, deformities, or pain in the breast.

The treatment depends on the severity. In mild cases, massages or specific medications can provide relief. In more severe cases, surgical intervention is often necessary – such as removing the capsule or replacing the implant. Thanks to modern implant technologies and careful surgical methods, the risk of capsular contracture can now be significantly reduced.
